Secrets of a Summer Spy

A Young Adult Novel

Thirteen-year-old Ronnie was looking forward to summer on Harbor Island with her best friends, Mia and Charlie. The trio called themselves “The Clamdiggers,” because they were as close as clams. They did everything together: boating, waterskiing, fishing, swimming, and playing their favorite after-dark game—spying on the Island’s residents. But now, Ronnie finds that Mia and Charlie are growing up faster than she is, and The Clamdiggers seem to be falling apart. Ronnie finds solace in the company of Fern, an eighty-three-year-old retired concert pianist and eccentric cat lady who likes to roam the island’s wild places. Ronnie keeps her friendship with Fern a secret and discovers that Fern has secrets of her own.
